Sh’ma Yisrael | Hear, O Israel

Sh’ma Yisrael | Hear, O Israel

Hebrew Transliteration:
Sh’ma Yisrael,

Adonai, Eloheinu,

Adonai echad.

Baruch shem k’vod

Malchuto

Le’olam va’ed.

English:
Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God,

The Lord is One.

Blessed be His glorious Name

Whose kingdom is forever and ever.

“Sh’ma Yisrael Adonai Eloheinu Adonai Echad” translates: Hear O Israel, The Lord our God, The Lord is One! (Deuteronomy 6:4)  Known as ”The Sh’ma” and recited as the confession of the Jewish Faith, this time- less scripture was first spoken from the lips of Moses to the children of Israel. When Yeshua (the Hebrew name for Jesus) was asked what was the greatest commandment of all, he quoted ”The Sh’ma.” (Mark 12:29-31)

Whether Jew or Gentile, God’s chosen people or God’s grafted in people, may this great foundational truth encourage you to love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength!

This track is from the album Sh’ma Yisrael.

Sh’ma Yisrael:
Blending rhythmic praise with ethnic overtones and mixing the Hebrew and English languages, may the music of Sh’ma Yisrael create in you a new and passionate expression of worship towards “The Holy One of Israel.” Blessings to you out of Zion!
