Should Christians Have a Heart for Israel?

Should Christians have a heart for Israel? Many Christians have lived and died having never considered this most vital question. There are probably many reasons for this. Maybe they sat under a preaching ministry that never addressed the responsibility of the church to pray for the salvation of Israel (Rom 11:11-15).Perhaps they lived in a geographical area where no Jews were to be found, and therefore there was no stimulus beyond God’s written Word to give them a burden for the salvation of the Jew. Possibly, they were spiritually nurtured in a tradition within Christianity that believed national Israel was no longer considered to be of concern to God. They were taught that, to God, Israel as a nation is no different than Mexico, Russia, Canada, Romania, or any other country. Whatever the reason or reasons have been, our aim in preparing the series Should Christians have a Heart for Israel? is to call Messiah’s church to consider the abundant biblical reasons for her having a present, persevering, and passionate heart for Israel, Jewish people everywhere, as well as those specific Jews geographically located under the flag of the present-day nation of Israel.
In the series Should Christians have a Heart for Israel? (found in the Knowledge Center) we will explore and consider the biblical reasons and their practical implications for believers everywhere.
